'Working Together to Safeguard Children' is created by central government, which provides guidance on how agencies (local authorities, police, healthcare and charities) should work together for the best outcomes for children.

Working Together 2018 states:

"Everyone who works with children has a responsibility for keeping them safe"

It continues to say:

"Local organisations and agencies should have in place effective ways to identify emerging problems and potential unmet needs of children and families……Multi-agency training will be important in supporting this collective understanding of local need."

Working Together 2018 describes the new approach to 'Safeguarding Arrangements' for each area. Until these arrangements are in place, chapter 3, 4 and 5 of Working Together 2015 still apply (Local Safeguarding Transitional Arrangements).
