'Working Together to Safeguard Children' is created by central government and provides guidance on how agencies (local authorities, police, healthcare and charities) should work together for the best outcomes for children.

Working Together 2023 states:

"Successful outcomes for children depend on strong partnership working between parents/carers and the practitioners working with them. Practitioners should take a child-centred approach to meeting the needs of the whole family."

It continues to say:

"Local organisations and agencies should have in place effective ways to identify emerging problems and potential unmet needs of individual children and families. [...] Multi-agency and multi-disciplinary training will be important in supporting this collective understanding of the demographics and needs of the local community, the local practice framework, and the services available to support children."
