The programme is the result of a collaborative approach to provision of learning which has involved agencies and both LSCB's in each of the areas providing learning. The programme is centrally co-ordinated by the Children's Workforce Development Project.

Funded learning events and non attendance charge

LSCB training and learning opportunities are funded by the LSCB and local partners. This funded training is available to those who work or support practitioners who work in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland only. If you do not meet this criteria, but will still like to access our learning events, please contact the LSCB and we may be able to arrange attendance for a charge.

Non attendance charge

Leicester City and Leicestershire & Rutland Safeguarding Children Boards have agreed that there will be a universal charge applied for nonattendance on the following learning events:

There is currently no charge to attend any of these courses and learning events, however there is a charge for nonattendance on these courses.

The underlying principle of charging is to maximise attendance and prevent delegate spaces being unused, where others may have had the opportunity to attend.

Since the principle of charging has been introduced there has been a significant decrease in non-attendance, and the process has allowed spaces on courses to be re-allocated via the waiting list, and maximised the learning opportunity for the workforce.

Any finances raised will be used to resource additional learning opportunities to sustain safeguarding learning across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

Inter-agency programme

The programme is the result of a collaborative approach to provision of learning which has involved agencies and both LSCBs in each of the areas providing learning and funding the programme. The programme is centrally co-ordinated by the Children's Workforce Development Project.
